اسم الحرف يختلف عن صوته داخل الكلمة. استمعي إلى اسم الحرف B، ثم إلى صوته في بداية كلمة bag. كرري بعد معلمتك. نستخدم الضمير بدال ً من االسم. كلمة you تستعمل للمفرد والجمع، للمذكر والمؤنث. Pronoun المعنى I أنا you أنت َ / أنت ِ / أنتم / أنتن he هو she هي it لشيء أو حيوان مفرد عند اإلشارة العامة we نحن they هم / هن؛ وتستعمل أيضًا لألشياء الجمع Sara → she سارة: نستخدم she. نستخدم am وis وare لوصف الشخص أو الشيء أو التعريف به. ال نحتاج عادة ً إلى ترجمتها بكلمة مستقلة في الجملة العربية. نضع a أو an قبل االسم المفرد المعدود عندما نتحدث عن شيء غير محدد. نستخدم an قبل صوت علة، وa قبل صوت ساكن؛ المهم هو الصوت. a book • a pen كتاب • قلم an apple • an egg تفاحة • بيضة أكثر من واحد نضيف غالبًا s لتكوين الجمع. بعض الكلمات تتغير بشكل آخر، وسنتعلمها تدريجيًا. book → books pen → pens box → boxes child → children I have a book. لدي كتاب واحد. نستخدم المضارع البسيط للحديث عن العادات. مع I وyou وwe وthey نستخدم الفعل األساسي. مع he وshe وit نضيف غالبًا s أو es. I / you / we / they he / she / it I play. .She plays We read. .He reads They go. .She goes نفي وسؤال I do not play. للنفي: do not، واختصارها don’t.
