A student design portfolio showcasing interior design projects across five categories: residential, commercial, healthcare, hospitality and artwork. The document includes project details, concept statements, mood boards, programming notes, furniture concepts and technical drawings.
This is a design portfolio by Cait Scheurich, an interior design student. It presents five project categories: residential, commercial, healthcare, hospitality and artwork. The portfolio is intended for academic or professional review.
The first project is Citrus Afterglow, a commercial cafe with a hidden evening lounge in Gaithersburg, Maryland. It covers an 8,000 square foot space designed in Spring 2026 using Revit, Enscape and Adobe InDesign. The concept blends a cozy daytime cafe with a lively nighttime lounge.
The portfolio includes design solutions such as curved planters, central coffee bar placement, soft seating, bookshelves, checkerboard ceilings and green color schemes. It also features furniture concepts like long tables, booths, bar height seating and ADA accessible options.
The second project is Senior Cohousing, a 900 square foot senior living unit in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin designed in Fall 2024. It uses AutoCAD, Enscape, SketchUp and Adobe InDesign. The design promotes aging in place with features exceeding ADA requirements.
The portfolio also contains a reflected ceiling plan for Citrus Afterglow with ceiling legends, beam details and lighting fixtures. Additional projects include Milner Library, Osprey Medical, Celestia AlUla Hospitality and Bank of Amador, a historic 1908 bank converted into a club.
The document includes precedent studies from San Francisco, Bangalore, Algonquin and Bloomington. It covers observational research on user behavior, seating preferences and space usage patterns for different age groups and activities.
