REFLECTIONDay 1 My first day at Health Index was an exciting experience because I finally got to see what working in a medical clinic was like. We were introduced to the clinic and became familiar with its environment and the different procedures performed there. I learned how to properly take a patient's blood pressure and observed several medical procedures, including vaccinations, blood drawing, and an ECG. Seeing these procedures in person helped me understand how much knowledge, focus, and care are needed when handling patients. I was especially interested in observing the healthcare professionals as they worked because I got to see how they applied what they had learned. Although I was still unfamiliar with many things, I was excited to learn and experience more throughout the week. My first day taught me the importance of being observant, attentive, and willing to learn, especially in a field where people's health and safety are involved. Day 2 On my second day, I became more involved in the daily activities of the clinic. I took the blood pressure of many patients and worked at the front desk, where I got to observe how the clinic accommodated and assisted people. I also participated in an ECG procedure, where I had the opportunity to handle the machine and its suction cups. This allowed me to become more familiar with the equipment and understand how important proper placement and handling are during the procedure. Aside from this, I helped with the YAKAP program by taking the blood pressure, heart rate, height, and weight of patients applying for the program. It was a busy day, but I enjoyed being able to contribute and practice the skills I had learned. I also spent a lot of time with the nurses and my fellow students, who made the experience more enjoyable. This day taught me that working in healthcare requires patience, teamwork, and the ability to communicate with different people.
REFLECTIONDay 3 On my third day, I continued working at the front desk, but I also wanted to explore other areas of the clinic and learn more about what happens behind the scenes. Because of this, I volunteered to help in the laboratory, where I updated logbooks and delivered laboratory results. This experience helped me realize that healthcare involves more than just directly assisting patients. Proper documentation, organization, and the accurate handling of information are also important parts of keeping a clinic running smoothly. Throughout the day, I continued taking patients' blood pressure, participated in more ECG procedures, and helped with the YAKAP program. Although there were many tasks to accomplish, I appreciated having the opportunity to experience different responsibilities. I learned that being willing to step outside my comfort zone can help me discover new things and develop skills I might not have learned otherwise. This day encouraged me to remain curious and take every opportunity to learn something new. Day 4 My fourth day was meaningful because, aside from my usual responsibilities at the clinic, I also helped with a food drive where we distributed food to many children in need. Seeing the children receive food reminded me that helping people does not always have to involve medical procedures. Sometimes, even simple acts of service can make a difference in someone's life. After helping with the food drive, I continued working in the laboratory by updating logbooks and also assisted at the front desk. Balancing these responsibilities taught me the importance of being adaptable and managing my time well. I also realized that healthcare is not only about treating illnesses but also about showing compassion and looking after people's overall well- being. This experience reminded me of the value of service and empathy, especially when helping people who may be facing difficult circumstances. It was one of the most memorable parts of my immersion because it allowed me to help others in a different way.

REFLECTIONDay 1 My first day at Bacoor Doctors Medical Center was a simple but memorable experience. We were introduced to the staff and given time to rest as we familiarized ourselves with the hospital environment. Although we did not have many tasks to accomplish, I appreciated having the opportunity to meet the people we would be spending the week with. I also spent time with my friends, and we enjoyed eating and talking together. At first, I expected our immersion to be filled with different medical activities, so having a more relaxed first day was something I did not expect. However, I realized that work immersion is not always about being busy or constantly doing something. Sometimes, it is also about adjusting to a new environment, getting to know the people around us, and preparing ourselves for the experiences ahead. Overall, my first day was a good start to the week, and I looked forward to learning more about the hospital and its staff. Day 2 On my second day at Bacoor Doctors Medical Center, we helped organize medical files and were given more time to rest. Although organizing files may seem like a simple task, it helped me understand the importance of keeping medical records arranged and accessible. Hospitals handle a large amount of information every day, and proper organization helps healthcare professionals find the documents they need more efficiently. This made me realize that working in the medical field involves more than assisting patients or performing medical procedures. There are also responsibilities behind the scenes that help keep the hospital organized and functioning properly. Aside from our assigned task, I spent time with my friends and enjoyed the more relaxed atmosphere. Even though we did not have many activities, I still appreciated the experience because it allowed me to understand some of the responsibilities involved in maintaining a healthcare facility.
REFLECTIONDay 3 On my third day, we were given a tour around the hospital, which allowed us to become more familiar with its different areas and facilities. I found this experience helpful because it gave me a better understanding of the hospital environment and how its different sections contribute to patient care. Seeing the workplace firsthand also helped me appreciate how many people and departments are involved in keeping a hospital running. Although we spent much of the day resting, the tour gave us an opportunity to learn through observation rather than through hands-on activities. It reminded me that learning does not always have to involve performing tasks ourselves. Sometimes, simply observing our surroundings and understanding how things work can teach us valuable lessons. This day also made me more aware of the responsibilities that come with working in a healthcare setting, especially the importance of maintaining an organized and safe environment for both patients and staff. Day 4 My fourth day at Bacoor Doctors Medical Center was one of the more educational days of our immersion because we were taken around the hospital to identify possible workplace hazards. This activity helped me become more aware of the importance of safety in a healthcare environment. Hospitals have different areas that require proper precautions to protect patients, visitors, and employees. By observing our surroundings, I realized that recognizing potential hazards is an important step in preventing accidents and maintaining a safe workplace. Aside from this activity, we also helped organize more medical files, which allowed us to continue learning about the administrative side of hospital operations. Although our tasks were relatively simple, I appreciated being given responsibilities that helped us understand how the hospital functions. This day taught me that even small tasks and observations can contribute to a larger purpose. It also reminded me that safety, organization, and attention to detail are essential in any healthcare facility.
REFLECTIONDay 5 My fifth and final day at Bacoor Doctors Medical Center was a relaxed one, as we spent more time resting and interacting with the hospital staff. Looking back on the entire week, I realized that although we did not perform many hands-on activities, the experience was still meaningful. We were able to familiarize ourselves with the hospital environment, learn about the importance of organizing medical records, explore different areas of the hospital, and understand the value of workplace safety. I also appreciated the time we spent with our friends and the staff, as these moments made the experience more enjoyable and memorable. This immersion reminded me that not every learning experience has to be filled with major responsibilities or exciting activities to be valuable. Sometimes, the lessons we gain from observing, listening, and simply being present are just as important. I am grateful for the opportunity to experience a hospital setting and gain a better understanding of its daily environment. As I end this chapter of my work immersion, I carry with me the realization that every experience has something to teach us, even when things do not go exactly as we expected.
My two-week work immersion at Health Index and Bacoor Doctors Medical Center was a meaningful experience that gave me a glimpse of what working in the medical field is like. During my time at Health Index, I was able to assist patients, observe medical procedures, and learn about the daily responsibilities of healthcare professionals. Meanwhile, my experience at Bacoor Doctors Medical Center taught me that even simple tasks play an important role in maintaining a safe and organized healthcare environment. Although not every day was busy, I realized that learning does not always have to come from doing something extraordinary. Sometimes, it comes from observing, listening, and appreciating the experiences around us. More importantly, this immersion brought me closer to my dream of becoming a nurse by allowing me to experience a glimpse of what it means to care for others. It reminded me that nursing requires not only knowledge and skills but also patience, compassion, and dedication. I am grateful for this experience because it strengthened my appreciation for the medical field and inspired me to keep working toward my dream.OVERALLREFLECTION
